Mort Bay Park is located on the edge of Balmain and Birchgrove, featuring a playground, open spaces, and stunning views of Sydney Harbour. Once a busy dock during WWI and WWII, Mort’s Dock closed in 1958.
Inner West Council is considering plans for a potential swim site that will include a netted enclosure, improved access, and upgraded community facilities. The design will be shaped in consultation with residents, health authorities, and waterway users, to balance other recreation, environmental preservation, and harbour activities.
