The Aboriginal Survival Memorial in Yeo Park honours the strength and resilience of the Gadigal and Wangal peoples. The artwork ‘Breathe’ by Nicole Monks and Maddison Gibbs uses engraved sandstone boulders as symbolic portals to ancient stories and cultural knowledge. This reflective space invites truth-telling and a deeper understanding of the enduring impacts of colonisation. This memorial is the first of three being created by Inner West Council.
