Welcome our new Riverkeeper – Marion Huxley

SHARE

Marion Huxley has joined the PRCG as our new Riverkeeper. She brings more than 20 years of aquatic ecology experience, gained while exploring and monitoring waterways across NSW, Victoria, and Queensland.

Marion’s field experience includes water quality monitoring, riparian surveys, bushland management, and the identification of a wide range of aquatic and terrestrial species. She also has extensive experience in environmental incident response, having investigated numerous pollution events. Her strong commitment to community groups, volunteers, and citizen science aligns closely with the PRCG’s mission to improve river health and strengthen the community’s connection to their waterways.

With a lifelong love of nature, especially bugs, Marion’s passion for protecting the environment underpins her work in water quality monitoring and environmental education. She is skilled at sparking children’s natural curiosity and using clear, scientific approaches that help both children and adults understand and value their local ecosystems.

Please join us in welcoming Marion and wishing her every success in her new role.
