Let’s make Parramatta river swimmable again by
– 2025 –

Almost two thirds of Sydney local government areas will be targeted in the next ‘Get the Site Right’ erosion and sediment control campaign.

Launched by the Parramatta River Catchment Group in 2016, they have joined forces with the Cooks River Alliance, Georges River Combined Councils Committee and Sydney Coastal Councils Group, the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA), and Department of Planning and Environment, and include more than 20 Sydney councils in the month-long compliance campaign.

‘Get the Site Right’ targets erosion and sediment control on commercial and residential building sites across Sydney, as well as major infrastructure projects. It also aims to raise awareness about the effects of sediment run-off on waterways.

Throughout November, participating councils, the NSW EPA and Department of Planning and Environment will monitor developments, targeting offending sites and issuing fines where appropriate to ensure they ‘Get the Site Right’.
